# Submit a Community Event to The Region Online Directory

> Learn how to add an upcoming event to The Region Online events calendar and get it in front of Northwest Indiana residents and local businesses.

The Region Online events calendar is your direct line to Northwest Indiana residents actively looking for things to do, places to go, and businesses to support. This page walks you through who can submit events, how to access the submission form, what information you'll need to provide, and what happens after you hit submit.

## Who Can Submit Events

Any registered user or business owner with an account on The Region Online can submit an event to the community calendar. Whether you're a business owner promoting a grand opening, a community organizer hosting a fundraiser, or a local group running a recurring meetup, the events calendar is open to you.

<Note>
  All submitted events are reviewed by The Region Online team before they appear publicly on the calendar. Allow up to 48 hours for your event to be approved and listed.
</Note>

## Required Information

Before you start the submission form, gather the following details so the process goes smoothly:

* **Event title** — a clear, descriptive name for your event
* **Date and time** — start date, start time, and end time (if applicable)
* **Location and city** — the venue name and full address within Northwest Indiana
* **Category** — choose the category that best fits your event (e.g., Food & Drinks, Community, Business, Entertainment)
* **Description** — a summary of what attendees can expect; aim for at least two to three sentences
* **Image** — a promotional photo or graphic for your event listing

<Tip>
  Adding a high-quality event image significantly increases click-through rates on the calendar. Listings with images consistently attract more views than those without — use a clear, eye-catching photo that represents your event at a glance.
</Tip>

## Optional Fields

The submission form also includes optional fields that help your event stand out and give attendees more context:

* **Event website or ticket link** — direct attendees to a registration page or external site
* **Admission cost** — free, paid, or donation-based
